Since 1946, Hawaii Star Bakery has been a cornerstone of Hawaii’s bread making tradition.

Founded by Yoshio Morikawa and sustained through generations of care, we’re proud to carry on a legacy rooted in craftsmanship, consistency, and community.

Our famous Poi Muffins and Sourdough loaves are more than baked goods. Each product reflects time honored techniques and the flavors of home.

We still bake with the original mother dough that Yoshio started over 70 years ago.

Today, the bakery is lovingly maintained by Liane Small, who began her journey in the bakery and, through passion and perseverance, rose to become its owner.

Now, 80 years later, we continue to bake fresh bread daily in Waipahu; sharing the same legacy loaves with families, retailers, hotels, and restaurants across the islands.
